Charles Trafton
Managing Partner

Chuck is responsible for implementing the FlowPoint investment strategy and product development. He has responsibility for fundamental and quantitative research, trading, and strategy simulations. Leveraging two decades of fundamental research in the education, technology and finance sectors, he is a managing member of FlowPoint Education Management and lead portfolio manager of FlowPoint Capital Partners LP and our K-20 Education Partners LP. Chuck also co-founded the edly ISA marketplace and serves as President.

From 2006-2013, Chuck was a portfolio manager and analyst at The Boston Company Asset Management, a $50 billion asset manager. As Portfolio Manager in the Portfolio Engineering Group 2012-2013, Chuck managed a $500 million U.S. equity fund and a $65 million U.S. Manufacturing sector fund. From 2006-2012 he was a member of the TBC Small Cap Growth team that managed $2 billion U.S. Small-cap, $1 billion U.S. Smid-cap, $100 million U.S. Mid-cap, $200 million Market-Neutral fund (sleeve), and a $200 million Microcap long-short fund. He’s authored dozens of studies, tools, screens and processes in use today e.g., stop-loss, trend, factor and exposure models, and has mentored PM’s and Analysts on the fusion of fundamental and technical analysis for more than a decade.

From 1994-2006 Chuck was an award-winning equity research analyst, including being voted an Institutional Investor magazine “All-America Health Care Research Analyst” in 1997 at Canaccord Genuity (formerly Adams, Harkness & Hill) and a Greenwich Associates “4-Star” Analyst in 1996 while at Cowen & Co. He graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Finance from Boston College, and lives in North Andover, MA with his wife and three children.

Christopher Ricciardi
Managing Partner, FlowPoint Education Management, LLC

Chris is a co-founder and a managing member of FlowPoint Education Management, LLC and edly, responsible for Income-Share Agreement (ISA) and Online Program Management (OPM) loan program structuring and FlowPoint securitizations. Chris is also founder of PLAAY Sports, Inc. a technology company. From 2010-2017 Chris was principal at Mead Park Investments. Prior positions include President and CEO of Cohen & Co., a publicly-traded investment firm, and Global Head of Structured Credit Products at Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, and Prudential. Chris has an MBA from Wharton and a BA in economics from University of Richmond.

Tim Foley
Managing Director

Tim is co-manager of the FlowPoint Financial Advantage strategies and a FlowPoint Education Management partner. Tim has been engaged in portfolio management activities for two decades focused primarily on global equities in the financial services industry at firms including Surveyor Capital LLC, Pioneer Investments, Aviva and Columbia Management. Tim was also a research analyst on the highly ranked financial services research team at Bank of Montreal and has experience in fixed income and foreign exchange trading. Tim has a BA in economics from Carleton University and the CFA designation.

Tom Young
Managing Director

Tom leads business development at FlowPoint, building partnerships with asset management platforms and managing relationships with key advisors and investors. With over 40 years of financial service industry experience, Tom is an accomplished veteran with prior experience as an advisor, wholesaler and business owner. As an advocate for “Positive Change” (the Japanese concept of Kaizen) within the industry, Tom has built successful collaborations between premier wealth and asset management teams, creating long-term investment strategies, and partnerships, that have thrived through sharing of information and knowledge.

Harry Birch

Harry is an analyst at FlowPoint Education Management, LLC. He's also Head of Product at PLAAY Sports, Inc. a technology company. Harry formerly served as a credit analyst at Mead Park Investments under Mr. Ricciardi. Harry also consults as Interim CFO at EVAmore, a music technology platform, and has a BA Economics, Vanderbilt.
